Frequently Asked Questions
A conversion is one successful PDF operation processed through the API. Only the following operations are counted.
Supporting endpoints such as file uploads, document retrieval, downloads, envelopes, recipients, and webhooks are never counted, and neither are operations that fail. Anything you run with a sandbox test key is free, so you can experiment without using up conversions. Digital signatures are not counted either and they have their own pricing.

No, conversions are refreshed each month. Any unused conversions from the previous month will expire.
If you exceed your usage limit, additional conversions will continue as overages and will be billed separately according to your plan’s overage rate.
By default, we do not save files generated through the API. You can enable optional API file storage in the settings and choose a retention period of up to 2 years.
Documents created or signed through the dashboard are stored so they can remain accessible for signing, download, audit history, and record keeping. These documents and their audit logs are not deleted automatically based on the API storage setting. You can delete them manually from the dashboard or by using the delete document endpoint.
